Abstract

Metalepis cubensis (A. Rich.) Griseb. known only to Central America and north of South America (Colombia and Equador) is registered as a new occurrence to Brazil, Espirito Santo State. Eight taxa described previously are included here as new synonyms. Description and  illustration are given.
