Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript is original and unpublished, and is not under consideration for publication in other journals.
  • The submitted file was created in word processing software and can be edited (up to 2MB).
  • The text is double-spaced, in 12-point Arial font, figures and tables are inserted within the body of the text.
  • The manuscript and bibliography meet the requirements described in the Author Guidelines.
  • Any information that can identify the authors has been removed, including in the file properties.
  • All authors express their explicit agreement in the cover letter to submit the manuscript for publication and was submitted as a supplementary document.
  • The declaration of use or non-use of AI is explicit in the Cover Letter.

Articles

Main section, for original and unpublished works.

Review Articles

Should  contain critical assessments of the literature on the subject.
In the final considerations, review articles should include the author’s position on the topic.

Scientific Notes

This is an alternative format for more concise description of results.
Conclusive results should be reported; preliminary data will not be accepted.

  • Copyright: Authors maintain the copyright to their work. PFB holds the right to the first publication, and use rights under the specific Creative Commons deed.
  • Editing and revision: PFB reserves the right to edit the original manuscript to ensure conformity with the standards, spelling and grammar of the Portuguese language, while respecting the style of the author(s).
