This study was carried out with the objective of identifying microorganisms that cause leaf lesions in Euplassa semicostata Plana, with the potential to interfere with its flowering. Seven trees of E. semicostata were mapped in a remaining forest in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Leaf samples from these plants were collected and sent to the laboratory for diagnosis. The pathogenic environmental microorganisms found were Diaporthe sp. and Mycosphaerella gregaria. Future tests should be carried out in order to prove the association between the persistent presence of these fungi and the difficulty in flowering of these trees.
