Germination, Seed quality, Flotation testAbstract
This study aimed to evaluate processing methods and conservation of the quality of Clethra scabra Pers. seeds exposed to different periods and locations of storage. The processing treatments were: flotation, water flotation and control. The seeds were stored in a refrigerator and under natural laboratorial environment (≈ 17.4 °C; UR ≈ 83%) for 0,90 and 150 days. After the treatments, the seeds were submitted to the germination test. The best method to benefit C. scabra seeds is by floating them in water, and they can be stored either in a refrigerator or under natural laboratorial environment.
